Guys will be guys, but there comes a time when you need to clean up your act and, most especially, yourself.

There’s nothing wrong with being dirty, but there is a problem when you’re not clean.

Two totally different things.

So, how do you be a clean guy?

Several things MUST be done, or you will not accomplish your goal of landing the woman of your dreams.

No one wants a slob, and no one wants a guy that can’t take care of themselves.

Forget about thinking you’re manly because you’re dirty, and let’s see several ways to be a clean guy.

How to Be a Clean Guy

Being a clean guy is a must and guess where it starts?

It all starts with you.

Not with the doctor who told you that you’re quite the slob.

Look at yourself and I can promise you that you will see that you could use some work.

You need to understand why you’re not clean before you can fix anything.

Start there, and then you can see exactly how you can be a clean guy.

If you’re too good to do that, then I’m sorry, but, you’ll have to stick to being the person everyone in the office is talking about.

1. Do a Self Evaluation

After so many years of being a dirty person, you tend to go nose blind.

You don’t realize how you’re starting to look, and you don’t know how you smell.

Take a step back and think about where you’re hygiene is headed.

Not doing so will result in you getting into some bad personal hygiene habits, ultimately making you an unpleasant person.

2. Change the Way You Think

If you want to be a clean guy, you need to think like one.

It is crazy how your income dictates how you look, as you don’t have to be rich to look rich.

There are thrift stores with some pretty nice gear, as most rich people dump their clothes off when they decide they need a new wardrobe.

What does all this have to do with being a clean guy?

Well, if you can change the way you think and build more confidence, you can come off as a rich person and ultimately cleaner.

Get out of the stress that comes with living paycheck to paycheck and be the guy that you know you can be.

3. Clean Your House

Where you live is a reflection of how clean you are.

If you live in a clean place (without mom), chances are you’ll most likely be a clean guy.

Studies also show that a clean house can help with your physical and mental health.

Start small at first.

Pick up things here and there when you walk by them.

Throw that hot pocket trash away after you’re done eating.

Wash your dishes regularly.

Simple things can amount to a lot of change, so do them if you want to be a clean guy.

4. Take a Shower at Least Once a Day

There are many ways to be a clean guy; the biggest one is taking a shower.

Take at least one shower a day, but don’t limit yourself to just that.

You might want to jump in the shower if you cleaned the house, washed the car, or did anything that made you sweat.

Not only do you not want to stink, but you don’t want to get any “white spots“, which are caused by excessive sweating.

Taking showers is fun, it helps you be a cleaner guy, and it helps you be more productive.

So, guys, please take a shower at least once a day, if you aren’t doing so already.

This is especially important for those of you gamers who stay in your rooms all day.

5. Clean Your Mouth

There’s nothing that screams dirty guy more than what goes on in his mouth.

I don’t know about you, but the first thing I notice about people is their mouths.

I pick up on every silver tooth they have, I see how much their teeth show, and I definitely see how white their teeth aren’t.

If you’re anything like me, it might suck, but it also gives you a chance to really look at yourself.

Are your teeth a little on the buttery side?

Do you know you have teeth problems but you just push the problem to the side?

And, most importantly, when was the last time you went to the dentist?

Keep up with your cleaning at the dentist every 6 months and make any repairs necessary.

Having a clean mouth is critical if you want to be a clean guy.

6. Clean Your Ears

The ears are one of the dirtiest places on a human being, regardless of what any doctors have to say.

Although they recommend you almost never clean your ears, it doesn’t mean you can’t clean them.

Clean the outside of your ears and please, please get any visible earwax with a Q-tip or cotton swab.

Say what you want about not cleaning your ears, but seeing someone’s earwax is not the prettiest site.

Gag.

7. Trim Your Nails

You can tell how clean a person is just by looking at their nails.

Not only are well-kept nails nice, but they are also one of the better ways to be a clean guy.

If your nails are longer than your wife’s, grab the nail clippers and cut your nails immediately.

If you have gunk underneath your nails, grab the nail clippers and cut them.

Your nails – whether on your hands or feet – should be cleaned and chopped at least once a month.

If you find yourself “accidentally” scratching yourself with your nails, then you need to give them a trim.

Keep your nails maintained and I’m sure you’ll develop better habits and become a much cleaner person.

8. Let Your Feet Breathe

Most of the time, our feet are stuck in shoes all day.

That does not mean you need to keep your shoes on and disregard your feet until the day is over.

Let your feet out of your shoes every now and then and please don’t try to hide your feet as an excuse to not be a clean person.

Your feet sweat and if you’re not lucky enough, you might have a pair of stinky feet.

That’s not a bad thing as most of us aren’t as lucky, but it’s more important if you take care of your feet.

You don’t always have to wear socks either, so please let your feet breathe whenever it’s possible.

And, guys, please change your socks regularly.

9. Shave Regularly

Unless you’re a beard person or you’re trying to grow one out, having facial hair only tells others how busy and unclean you really are.

I don’t like to shave, even if I used to be in the military.

However, I need to shave at least every other day or I’ll look like one stressed-out individual.

Shave regularly and do so with a shaver that is nice to your face.

Not all shavers are created equal and you’ll know what I mean if you’ve ever placed a hotel razor on your face.

10. Maintain Your Man-yard

I decided to put haircuts and manscaping under the same heading, as your hair is something that needs to be maintained all the time, regardless of where it is on your body.

The hair on your head should be cut at least once a month (unless you’re bald), and your man areas should be trimmed at least every 6 months.

Of course, go with how fast your hair grows, and decide on whether or not it’s time for some manscaping.

11. Consider Ditching Disgusting Habits

There are certain things we do as adults that can really affect our hygiene and I’m sure you know what I’m talking about.

Vaping, smoking, and even chewing tobacco.

Those types of habits are quite the enemy of better hygiene.

I know, you still take showers and do some good oral hygiene, but trust me, it’s not easy to get rid of that funk.

I used to be a smoker, and although I washed my hands after smoking a cigarette, my fingers still smelled like it.

I thought I smelled fine as well until I stopped and smelled other smokers.

It stinks and it will not be conducive to being a clean man.

12. Develop Clean Habits

There are many habits of people with really clean houses and I can promise you that they are just as clean as their house.

As a guy looking to clean themselves up, you need to develop certain habits as well.

Put things away, wash dishes while you cook, and stop sitting on your dang behind.

Laziness is the key to being dirty and you need to change that if you want to be on the clean team.

13. Don’t Mix Up Being Clean and Being Dirty

Getting dirty is a part of life.

We will deal with nature, play some kind of sport, and have the occasional spill.

All that does not mean you’re not a clean person.

It’s what you do after that will dictate the type of person you are.

Do you sit on the couch after a long day of work or a round of golf?

If so, you are definitely not a clean person.

Change that and maybe you can be added to the list of clean people.

14. Do Better Laundry

Anyone can do laundry, but not everyone can do good laundry

Doing laundry requires more than throwing clothes in the washer and hitting start.

If you’re lazy to do laundry, you obviously don’t care about how you smell.

If you smell like a wet dog, it takes away from the shower you took and cancels the whole being clean idea.

There’s a better way to do laundry, especially if your clothes aren’t smelling as good as you want them to smell.

15. Eat Cleaner

You might think that food has nothing to do with being a clean person, but it does.

Not only will you help manage your weight but you will also clear your mind.

With that simple change in your life, you will see how much easier it is to do the rest of the things on this list.

If you want to quit being lazy, eat better and you’ll see the difference.

If you want to be a cleaner man, change the types of food you eat.

Limit your intake of fried, fatty foods, and hold back on eating too many sweet treats.

Drink lots of water and eat better if you want to be a cleaner guy.

16. Exercise

Exercise helps in many parts of your life and that includes being a cleaner guy.

If you want to be clean and think that exercise won’t help, think again.

Exercise builds more energy and that will help you clean and be clean.

You don’t have to do anything crazy either.

Go for a run, maybe do some pushups, and you’ll see a big difference in your overall attitude.

17. Clean Up After Yourself

We all have those days when we don’t feel like doing anything, and that’s fine.

It isn’t okay if you find yourself doing that more than 40% of the time.

Clean as you go is how I think things should be done, or you’ll end up paying for it later.

And, if you’re like most lazy people, you’ll have everything building up to where you need to take a day off just to get things back in order.

Don’t be lazy, keep things in order, and you’ll see how clean of a man you can really be.

Conclusion – Be a Clean Guy

Being a clean guy is as easy or as hard as you make it.

If you don’t do anything on this list, well, let’s just say you will never change.

There are other tips that I will add in the near future, so enjoy what we have provided thus far.
